Charles "Chuck" McAtee, age 85 of Clarence, passed away on Monday May 17, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral services will be held on Friday May 21 at 10:30 A.M. at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence with Pastor Ron Lashmit officiating. Burial will follow in the Clarence Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M on Thursday May 20 at Chapman's in Clarence. Chuck was born on September 29, 1935 to Harold and Luella (Johnson) McAtee in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He married Rosalie Reece on July 15, 1964 in Center Point, Iowa. She passed away on July 19, 2006. Chuck served his country in the United States Air Force and drove truck for over 50 years. He logged over 6 million miles and had friends from coast to coast. He dearly loved his wife, grandkids, great grandkids, and dogs (he especially liked spoiling his dogs). Chuck enjoyed meeting with the "Liar's Club" at Ditto's, his trucking buddies, and camping in his previous years. He is survived by his daughter Linda (Dave) Wallace of Tipton; sons Kevin Jones (Christina) of Cedar Rapids, Chuck McAtee (Sue Elsea) of Stanwood, and Scott (Amy) McAtee of Rochester; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister Sue (Randy) Thede of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law Nora Reece of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces & nephews. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; wife Rosie; son Bill; granddaughter Anna; 4 brothers; and a sister.
