Mavis L. Minar, age 77 of Clarence, passed away on Saturday morning April 4, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 7, 2015 at 10:30 A.M at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence with Pastor Lynn Butterbrodt officiating. Burial will follow at the Clarence Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday April 6, 2015 from 4-7 P.M at Chapman's in Clarence. Mavis was born on April 7, 1937 to Andrew and Pauline (Stowers) Browne in Maquoketa, Iowa. She married Gary Minar on May 3, 1963 in Wyoming, Iowa. He died April 5, 2010. Mavis enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by 3 sons, Rex of Clarence, Darrin (Renee) of LeMars, Ia., and Brett (Melissa) of Lowden; daughter, Roxann (Dean) Pospisil of Mt. Vernon; 18 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Marla Rae Grose of Maquoketa; and brothers, Alden (Donna) Browne and Adrian (Bonnie) Browne of Maquoketa. Mavis was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
