Obituary

Raymond Ihns, age 84, of 50 Plum Street Tipton, Iowa, died January 21, 2010, at Mechanicsville Nursing & Rehab where he had been a resident since January 11th. Raymond was born May 9, 1925, in Lowden, Iowa, to William Ihns and Lena Fountain. Family services were held at Chapman Funeral Home-Clarence. Raymond attended Massillon grade school and Lowden High school and then some college at University of Iowa. He was in the Navy from 1942-1945, stationed in the Pacific. He worked at the Hotel Roosevelt in Cedar Rapids in food service and also had lived in Chicago where he managed a restaurant. He then moved to California and worked for an aircraft corporation as restaurant supervisor. Raymond moved back to Chicago and worked as a male nurse for 5 years. In the early 80's, he bought a house in Massillon. A year-and-a-half ago he moved to Tipton.\n \nHe is survived by brothers Bill (Barb) of Massillon and Howard (Nancy) of Cedar Rapids; sister Mary (Jim) Noskowiak of Deerbrook, Wisc. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, sister and 2 brothers.
