Allen "Big Al" Voelkers, age 51, of Lowden, died Saturday, June 2, 2007, near Goldsboro, North Carolina from a motorcycle accident. Allen was born December 20, 1955, in Iowa City, Iowa to Elda and Dorothy (Iserhaut) Voelkers. He was a construction worker. Funeral services will be held 10:00am on Saturday, June 9, with Pastor Lynn Butterbrodt officiating. Burial will follow at Inland Cemetery in Bennett. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 on Friday, June 8, at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland. Allen was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters. He was survived by sisters Dorinda Wilhelm of Wheatland and Betty Skeel of Texas, and a "special" sister Angie Jacob of Burlington, as well as several nieces and nephews in Missouri and Iowa.
