Alreta M. Crock, age 84, of Olin, Iowa, died May 23, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Alreta was born April 24, 1928, in Cedar County to Joseph Cruse and Mary (Rhodes) Cruse. Alreta married Herbert Crock on February 3, 1948 in Tipton. He died in October of 1983. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, May 30, 2012\nat St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mechanicsville, Iowa, with Father David Hitch officiating. Burial will follow at Stanwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Tuesday at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence, Iowa. Alreta was a member of the Cedar County Historical Society, St. Mary's Catholic Church, and the Stanwood Lions. She is survived by sons Doug of Rossville, TN and Bill of Alvarado, TX; daughters Ellen (Wayne) Florang of Springfield, MO, and Alice Crock of Mesa, AZ; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. Alreta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, and 1 son.
