Alvin H. Becker, age 89, of Tipton, Iowa, died September 15, 2010, in the Cedar Manor Nursing Home - Tipton. Alvin was born May 12, 1921, in Cedar county, Iowa, to Edwin and Anna (Kroeger) Becker. Alvin married Leota Ford on November 30, 1942 at Kahoka, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, September 20, 2010, at St. John's United Church Of Christ in Clarence, Iowa, with Reverend David Mears officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery With graveside military rites by the Clarence American Legion. Visitation will be held at 9:00 am until service time on Monday morning. The pallbearers will be Gary Deerberg, Gary Klahn, Forbes Oldorf, Kevin Becker, Michael Becker, Blake Becker.
Alvin farmed 1946-1989 in Rural Clarence before moving to Tipton in 1990. He was an army veteran of WW II. He was a member of the Clarence American Legion and Tipton Moose Lodge.
Alvin is survived by his wife, Leota; 2 daughters, Donna Oldorf of Cedar Rapids and Marian Mckee of Denver, Colorado; son, Steven (Rita) of Stanwood; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, Harlan and David; a brother Ralph; and 3 sisters Norma Deerberg, Eleanora Burhop, and Irene Conrad.
