Ardith Toerber Johnson, 72, of Iowa City, Iowa, died on Friday, November 21, 2008, at University Hospital, in Iowa City after a brief illness. Ardith was born on November 29, 1935, in Lowden, Iowa to Harold and Bernice (Rutenbeck) Toerber. Ardith and Ardell Johnson were married March 10, 1982 in Iowa City. Ardith worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years, many of those years spent at University Hospitals. Graveside services for Ardith will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at 10:00am at Massillon Cemetery in Massillon, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm on Monday, November 24, 2008, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence, Iowa. Ardith is survived by her husband Ardell; daughter Vicki (Michael) Hof of Stillwater, Minnesota; son Robert (Julie) Thomas of Marshalltown, Iowa; 4 grandchildren Richard Craig Thomas, Heather Ann Thomas, Sarah Kay Hof, and Meghan Elizabeth Hof; and brother Garry (Margaret) Toerber of Littleton, Colorado. Ardith was proceeded in death by her parents.
