Arthur E. DeWulf, age 94, passed away on Sunday December 29, 2013 at the Wheatland Manor Nursing Home. Funeral Services will be Thursday January 2, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lost Nation with Father William Kneemiller officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before service time. There will be a luncheon after the service with burial to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Big Rock with military honors. Arthur was born August 28, 1919 in Rural Wheatland to Theophile and Erma VanDewille DeWulf. Arthur was united in marriage to Peggy Morgan Horner on August 19, 1950 in Clinton, Iowa. She passed away in October of 2012. Survivors include sons Gene(Berma) of Ackworth, Georgia; Garth(Anita) of Wheatland and Kelly(Edna) also of Wheatland; daughter-in-law Maureen Horner of Omaha,Nebraska; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; sister Margaret Conrad of Clarence and sister-in-law Vi DeWulf of Tipton. Arthur had been a farmer and was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Toronto along with the Wheatland American Legion. He was an Army veteran serving in the European Theatre and receiving the Purple Heart.
