Barbara J. Holst, age 77 of Lowden, passed away at her home on Saturday February 13, 2021. A memorial service will be held at Chapman Funeral Home on Saturday February 20 at 11:30 A.M with Terry Hoy officiating. Burial will be at the Lost Nation Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 A.M until service time. Barb was born on August 21, 1943 to Harold and Evalena (Adams) Berner in Clinton, Iowa. She married Raymond Holst on April 2, 1965 in Davenport. He passed away on June 12, 1983. Barb enjoyed traveling & dancing in her early years, gardening, watching the Wheel of Fortune, playing skip-bo, and was a good cook. She loved talking to her friends and never met a stranger. Barb was a family person and enjoyed attending her kids & grandkids sporting events. She was greatly loved by her family and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her sons Joel (Deb) of Waverly, Jeff (Laura) of Clarence, David (Tessa) of Holy Cross, and John (Kathleen) of Iowa City; daughters Tracey and Barbra (Jeff) Colvin of Lowden; grandchildren McClain, Ripken, Holly, Jonathan (Katie), Sadie, Riley, Jacob, Evy, and Lincoln Holst & Megan and Abbey Colvin; great grandchild Reed Holst; and sister Betty Berner of Lowden. Barb was preceded in death by her parents; brother Ben Berner; and husband Raymond. Memorials may be sent to Tracey at 700 Jefferson Street Lowden IA 52255.
