Barbara E. Klemme, age 88, passed away at the Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon on Tuesday April 4, 2023. Funeral services will be held at Chapman Funeral Home on Friday April 7, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ron Lashmit officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Stanwood Cemetery.

Barb was born on June 5, 1934 in Stanwood, Iowa to Earl and Elsie Stoecker St. John.

Survivors include her children Bob Klemme of Anamosa, Nancy (Ken) Nelson of Franklin, IA and Tammy Taylor of Williamsburg; grandchildren Nathan Quint, Carissa Nelson, Kyler Nelson, Jarric Nelson, Samantha Taylor, Alexandria Crane, and Drake Klemme; 7 great grandchildren; brothers Jim St. John of Davenport, Joe St. John of Clarence, John St. John of Cedar Rapids, Tom (Teri) St. John of Marion, Elmer (Kate) St. John of Clarence; and also sister-in-law Phyllis St. John.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother Arthur St. John; and sister-in-law Pat St. John.

Barb loved to play bingo, cards with her brothers and sisters-in-law, lottery scratch off tickets, and most of all collect recipes. She had worked at Family Foods and the Tipton and West Branch Care Centers. Barb was a member of the Clarence American Legion Auxiliary, was a past Girl Scout leader, and also sold Avon.
