Barbara Clare Small, age 90, passed away on Monday February 13, 2023 at Wheatland Manor. There will be a private family service at a later date.

Barbara was born March 14, 1932 in Clinton, Iowa to William and Clara Chandler Thompson. She married Alan Small in June of 1973 in Rockton, IL. He passed away September 1, 2016.

Survivors include her children Beryl Griebel of Clinton, Laurel Lewandowski of Loves Park, IL, Cybil (Sebastian) Meyer of Lost Nation; stepson Alan Jeffery (Carrie) Small, Jr. of Miles; grandchildren Selena, Sabrena, Noah, Gibson, and 5 others; 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alan; brother Bob; and sister Mary.

Barbara enjoyed many things in life including baking, sewing, crocheting, gardening, feeding and watching birds, and reading. She was truly a lover of the written word. Barbara was employed buy the state of Iowa for over 20 years and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lost Nation. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
