Bernadine D. Lund, age 94, passed away on Sunday March 17, 2013 at Genesis Medical Center in DeWitt. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday March 21, 2013 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland at 10:30 A.M with Reverend Jon Cofield officiating. Burial will follow at the Dixon Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 20, 2013 from 4-6 P.M at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland. Bernadine was born on October 10, 1918 to William and Louise (Mayerhofer) Knoche in Wheatland, Iowa. She married Lester Lund on January 7, 1936 in Wheatland. He died in 1982. Bernadine and her husband farmed in the Calamus/Dixon area. She owned/operated Lund Grocery Store in Dixon with her husband, worked at Parker Company and also The Box Factory in Davenport. Bernadine moved to Wheatland in 2002. She is survived by two daughters, Virjean (Ken) VanHulzen of Oskaloosa and Verlee (Rollie) Reiling of Wheatland; brother, Owen Knoche of Knox City, Missouri; sister-in-law, Ann Lund of Whitman, Massuchusetts; grandchildren, Kendra (Mike) Slycord, Kraig (Jana) VanHulzen, Kurt (Theresa) VanHulzen, Kara (Scott) Touro, Ross (Pam) Reiling, Robin (Autumn) Reiling, and Renae (Rich) Edler; great grandchildren, Kayla (Brock) Martin, Kristell Slycord, Kamron, Kourtney, Andrew, Sarah, and Joshua VanHulzen, Nathan, Mitchell, and Makenna Touro, April, Rochelle, Ariel, Kirstie, and Kyle Reiling, Amber (Adam) Moore, Jessica and Zach Edler; and a great great grandchild, Jace Reiling. Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sister-in-laws and three brother-in-laws.
