Bernard E. Andrew, age 85 of Mechanicsville, passed away on Saturday September 25, 2021 at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden on Wednesday September 29 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Daniel Redhage officiating. The family requests masks be worn. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until service time at the church. Burial will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Bernard was born October 20, 1935 in Mendota, MO to Frank and Dulcie White Andrew. He married Berneta Lunow on September 19, 1954 in Unionville, MO.
Bernard is survived by his wife; daughter Kerin (Steve) Robinson of Mechanicsville; son Kevin (Sandra) Andrew of Claremore, OK; grandchildren Bronson Andrew, Brandon Robinson, Taryn Kuntz, and Bergen Andrew; 9 great grandchildren; brother Delmar; and sisters Violet Young and Linda (Richard) Abbott.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Lloyd and Jim; and sisters Geraldine, Betty, Lavinnia, and Hazel.
Bernard was a lifelong farmer who farmed the ground while also raising hogs. In his earlier years he enjoyed traveling, which included road trips with friends, and hunting and fishing. He also held many offices in the Lutheran Church at that time. Bernard liked to do things with his grand and great grandchildren, and also watch westerns. Watching Hawkeye Sports with his wife was also something he enjoyed.
