Bernice Fuelling, 81, of Wheatland, Iowa, entered eternal rest on Friday, July 11, 2008, at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa, following a brief illness. Bernice was born on September 30, 1926, to Albert and Louise (Kramer) Burrichter in Wheatland. Bernice married Elwood Fuelling February 6, 1949, in Wheatland; he passed away May 31, 2008.
Bernice graduated from Wheatland High School and A.I.C. in Davenport. She was active in St. Paul's Church as a choir member and Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Ladies Aid and participated in all their activities as well as being a lifelong member of the Legion Auxiliary. She loved golfing, playing cards, spending time with her family, especially her 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She farmed with her husband until retiring in 1991 and moving to Wheatland.
Funeral services for Bernice Fuelling will be held at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 10:30 am with Pastor Lynne Bisson officiating. Burial at St. Paul's Church Cemetery will follow. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, July 14, at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland. In lieu of flowers, memorials my be directed to St. Paul's Church in Wheatland.
Bernice is survived by her daughters Kaye (Leonard) Burke of Marshalltown, Karen (Tom) Vander Heiden of Wheatland; and 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Bernice was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Gilbert.
