Betty Alexander, age 86, died Wednesday November 7, 2012 at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home. There will be no services.\n Betty was born March 6, 1926 to Leroy and Ruby Jeffrey Hansen at Maquoketa, Iowa. Betty was married to James A. Alexander on July 19, 1952 in Anamosa. He died in 1988.\n Betty attended the Jane Lamb School of Nursing for 3 years. She worked in nursing homes in Savanna, Illinois, Denver, Colorado, and Reno, Nevada. She volunteered in Reno at a Senior Health Care Center, putting in over 200 hours.\n She is survived by a step-daughter Betsy Gomer of Reno, Nevada and 2 step-sisters Dorothy Callistini and Barbara Butala of St. Helena, Ca.\n She was preceeded in death by her parents and her husband.
