Betty L. Burns, age 80, of Lowden, Iowa, died on April 5, 2012 at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Betty was born January 13, 1932, in Pontiac, Michigan to Earl Forkel and Leona (Wheeler) Forkel. Betty was married to Robert Burns. He died July 4, 2000. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 9, 2012, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence, Iowa, with Reverend Steve Schmaljohn officiating. Betty loved the lord and had the nickname "Betty-Boop". She is survived by children (The 8 C's) Christie, Clare, Candy, Christopher, Carla, Cheryl, Charleen and Carrie; 15 grandkids; and 10 great-grandkids. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
