Betty J. Licht, age 91 of rural Wheatland, passed away November 2, 2024.

Betty was born on the family farm near Toronto on November 6, 1932 to Arthur and Ida (Gehrls) Licht.

She graduated from Wheatland High School and AIC Business School in Davenport. Upon graduation, she began her lengthy career with the American Trust and Savings Bank in Lowden, where she worked for 55 years.

Betty was a lifelong member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Lowden.

Throughout her life, she enjoyed riding and showing horses, gardening, crafting and reading books.

Surviving Betty are her sister Eva Kelley of La Porte City; nephews Mark (Nancy) Kelley of Cedar Falls and Michael (Linda) Kelley of Mt. Pleasant; and eight great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Robert Licht; sister-in-law Darlene (Brauer) Licht; nephew Joe Licht; brother-in-law George Kelley; and niece Patricia (Kelley) Kautz.

Honoring her wishes, a private graveside service of Christian Burial will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
