Betty Schwartz, age 86, of Wheatland, Iowa, died on March 9, 2012 at DeWitt Community Hospital. Betty was born September 15, 1925, in Clermont, MN to Christian Homrighausen and Etta (Horstmann) Homrighausen. Betty married Robert Schwartz on November 20, 1943 at Lost Nation. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 12, 2012, at Parkview Lutheran Church in Long Grove, Iowa, with Pastor Bob Bartel officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Wheatland, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm on Sunday, March 11, at the Church and 1 hour before the service. Betty was a member of the church. She liked baking and canning and also enjoyed traveling as much as she could. She was a loving, devoted farm wife through the years. She also enjoyed card clubs and re-finishing furniture. She is survived by husband Robert of Wheatland; son Lee (Darla) of Emmetsburg, IA; granddaughter Michelle (Michael) Webb of Spirit Lake, IA; grandson Douglas (Courtney) of Spencer, IA; great-grandchildren Morgan Webb, Sydney and Mia Schwartz; brother Junior (Louise) Homrighausen of Lowden; and nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather.
