Beverly J. Steinke, age 71, of Clarence, Iowa, died November 28, 2007, at West Ridge Care Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa after a short battle with cancer. Beverly was born November 9, 1936, in Clarence, Iowa to Ira B. and Florence (Shriver) Long. Beverly Married Raymond Steinke Sept. 9, 1956 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 1, 2007, at St. John's United Church of Christ with Reverend David Mears officiating. Burial will follow at Massillon Cemetery in Massillon, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Friday, November 30, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Beverly was a graduate of Clarence High School and Paris Beauty Academy in Cedar Rapids. She had worked as a beauty operator and for over 20 years in accounting for the Clarence Coop. She was a member of St. John's Church and had been active in the Adult Choir and Bell Choir for many years. Beverly is survived by her husband Ray; daughter Tracie Merrifield of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter Alicia Donnell of Cedar Rapids; grandson Travis Merrifield of Cedar Rapids; sisters Arlene Leinbaugh of Maquoketa and Eleonor (Web) Thoeming of Tipton; and a brother Ira (Betty) Long of Stanwood. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Liberta Meyer.
