Blanche Schnede, age 92, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died Saturday, September 16, 2006, at Clover Ridge Place in Maquoketa. Blanche was born February 4, 1914, in Rural Lowden to Emer and Olga (Klahn) Mowry. Blanche was married October 21, 1937 at Davenport to Lloyd Schnede, he died September 1, 2000. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 30, 2006, at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland, Iowa, with Reverend Bob Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Wheatland. Visitation will be held from 12:30 pm until the start of services. Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Galea Rae, and her 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Blanche was survived by her daughter, Judy (Blaine) Evans of Coalmont Colorado, her son in-law, Richard Mommsen of Clinton, and her sister in-law, June Mowry of Lowden. Also surviving are five granddaughters and eight great grandchildren and also a number of nieces and nephews.
