Carlin John Burmeister, age 67, died Saturday March 12,2016 at his home in rural Lowden after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be Wednesday March 16, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden with Rev. Daniel Redhage officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery with military honors.
Carlin was born on February 7, 1949 in Cedar Rapids to Norman and Blanche (Rixe) Burmeister.
Carlin graduated from Trinity Lutheran School in 1963 and Lowden High School in 1967. He loved his farm and was a very good caretaker of the land. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was a past elder and trustee. Carlin was an Army Veteran, serving 2 years in Germany.
He is survived by his twin sister, Carlene (Joel) Kohlhoff of Corning; brothers, Leroy of Lowden and LaMoyne (Sally) of Clarence; nephews, Zach Kohlhoff and Jason (Jenna) Burmeister; great-niece, Emma Burmeister; and great nephew, Hayden Burmeister.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
