Catharine E. Licht, age 87, died Saturday July 11, 2015 at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services will be Thursday July 16, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden. Visitation will be Wednesday July 15 from 5-7 p.m. at Chapman's in Clarence. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Catharine was born July 24, 1928 to Albert and Anna (Henricks) Oltmanns. She married Alvin Licht March 21,1965 in Anamosa, Iowa.
She is survived by her husband Alvin; son Noel (Robin) of Cedar Rapids; daughter-in-law Deborah Licht of Parkview, Iowa; Grandchildren Brianne, Ryan, Addison, Emily, Andrew and Ashley; Sisters Emma Lange and Annie (Edgar) Hintz of Lowden and Alberta Boysen of Marion; Brother Ervin (Marcia) Oltmanns of Marion; Sister-in-law Rosie Oltmanns of Anamosa and Brother-in-law Martin Winch of Marion. She was preceeded in death by her parents; son Matthew; 2 Brothers Ludwig and Henry and 2 Sisters Martha and Lena.
Catharine was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Trinity Ladies Aid. She was a caring person who put others before herself and a loving wife and mother. Catharine used her faith to help her with her problems of the day.
