Charles C. Doty, age 93 of Wheatland, passed away at Wheatland Manor on Sunday November 7, 2021. There will be a graveside service with military rites in Valparaiso, NE. Charles was born October 17, 1928 in McFall, MO to Rollie and Viola Hazelbaker Doty. Charles married Bernice Wenneson on December 18, 1948. Bernice passed away on February 26, 1974. He married Janet Dodson on August 8, 1975 at Rapid City, SD. She passed away on December 10, 2015. Survivors include his sons Neil (Pat) Doty of Fargo, ND, Douglas (Yesenia) of Atwater, MN, and Gregory of Boise, Idaho; daughter Susan (Bob) Thibedeau of Fargo, ND; step daughters Sondra (Daniel) Adams of Wheatland and Kathy Sue (Leon) Leapadt of Lincoln, NE; step son Wallace (Leila) Dodson of Madrid, NE; and many grand and great grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Bernice; wife Janet; 4 brothers; 4 sisters; step son Burl Dodson; and step daughter JoAnna Kate Dodson. Charles was retired after 20 years of service in the U.S. Coast Guard. He served his country during the WWII, Korean, and Vietnam wars. He enjoyed wintering in Texas, volunteering in his communities, and working with his hands.
