Clara L. Hamdorf, age 100 of Wheatland, passed away on Wednesday May 14, 2014 at Wheatland Manor. Funeral services will be held on Friday May 16, 2014 at 2:00 P.M at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland with Reverend John Cofield officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M until service time. Clara was born on December 17, 1913 to John and Ernestine (Beckmann) Schneider in Wheatland, Iowa. She married Walter Hamdorf on February 14, 1937 at St. Paul's Parsonage in Wheatland. Clara was a St. Paul's member and a former member of the Martha Aid Society of St. Paul's. She was a legion auxiliary member, where she was a treasurer for 50+ years. Clara also volunteered with Generations Area Agency on Aging Cafe at St. Paul's. She is survived by her sister, K. Louisa Schneider of Wheatland; sister-in-law, Alice Schneider of Wheatland; granddaughter, Kerri (Tom) Nykoluk of Davenport; and 5 great grandchildren. Clara was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son; grandson; six brothers and 5 sisters.
