Clarence "Bud" Miller, age 89, of Clarence, Iowa, died Friday, March 20, 2009, at Mechanicsville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after extended illness. Bud was born on May 1, 1919, in Standwood, Iowa, to Frank and Alta (Bixler) Miller. Bud married Virginia Rankin on August 7, 1954, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Virginia died in 1956. Bud married Margarethe Clausen on November 22, 1961, in Clinton. Bud attended Evergreen School north of Stanwood and graduated from Clarence High School. He farmed north of Clarence until his retirement. Funeral services for Bud Miller will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at Clarence United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Clarence Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Monday, March 23, 2009, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Bud is survived by his wife Margarethe; son Al (Sandra) of Clarence; daughters Judy (Steve) Curley of Atalissa and Luise (Don) Jones of Summerville, South Carolina; and 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Bud was proceeded in death by his parents, first wife, a sister and a grandson.
