Clifford M. Crist, age 90, of Stanwood, Iowa, died on August 31, 2011 at Mechanicsville Nursing and Rehab Center. Clifford was born December 6, 1920, in Stanwood, Iowa to Edwin Crist and Florence (Shuey) Crist. Clifford married Jean Wood on December 12, 1948 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. Masonic rites will be performed at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 3, 2011, at Stanwood Union Church in Stanwood, Iowa, with the funeral to follow with Pastor Phil Leipold officiating. Burial will follow at Stanwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until service time on Saturday, September 3, 2011. Cliff was a member of the Fremont Masonic Lodge #616 and the Farm Bureau. He was a former Lions member. Cliff was a farmer and sold Farm Bureau Insurance for 30 years. He is survived by his wife Jean; sons Randall (Catherine) of Cedar Rapids, and Grayland (Kathy) of Stanwood; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. Cliff was preceded in death by his brother Mearl and grandson Alexander.
