Obituary

Dale Allen Haury, age 82 of Bennett, passed away at the Clarence Nursing Home on Friday October 2, 2026 surrounded by family. Per Dale’s wishes, he will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be announced at a later time.

Dale was born in Muscatine, Iowa on August 6, 1944 to Wesley and Wilma (French) Haury. He attended Bennett school. After graduation, he was drafted into the Army. After the Army, he worked for Caterpillar and farmed for many years. When he retired from Caterpillar, he continued to farm and became involved with the Bennett Legion serving as bar tender for events held at the Legion.

Dale enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting and fishing. He loved to work on his property that he maintained in the CRP program for decades, ensuring the conservation of wildlife. He was a hard-working man that cared about his children, friends, and neighbors until the day he passed. Almost nothing kept him from doing the things he loved. He was lovingly called Uncle Dale or McCloud by many.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents and great-nephew Kyle Schwarz. He is survived by his children Melissa (Chad) Esbaum of Durant, Angela (James) Bryant of Keller, Texas, and Kevin (Shaya Semsch) Haury of Stockton; grandson Terry Esbaum of Tipton; and sisters Lois (Bill) Kelting of New Liberty and Jean Haury-Dean of Bettendorf; and many nieces and nephews.
