Dale L.
Siebels
May 20, 1948 – January 23, 2026
Dale L. Siebels, age 77 of Stanwood, passed away on January 23, 2026 at UIHC in Iowa City after a recent illness. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 29 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stanwood with Reverend Dr. Andrew Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Stanwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28 from 5-7 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence.
Born on May 20, 1948, in Mechanicsville, Iowa, he was the son of Lawrence J. Siebels and Louise F. (Lehrman) Siebels. Dale grew up on the family farm, where he learned the value of hard work, responsibility, and the quiet pride that comes from a life built with your own hands.
After graduating high school, Dale served his country in the United States Army. Following his service, he returned to eastern Iowa and spent many years operating Siebels Auto in Stanwood alongside his brother. He was a dedicated member of the Stanwood Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years. Dale eventually retired from John Deere in Waterloo, where he worked as a Product Development Technician.
Dale was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Stanwood American Legion. Outside of work and service, he embraced a wide range of hobbies that reflected his curiosity and love of being outdoors. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races, coyote hunting, attending car shows, metal detecting, and taking his Mustang out for a cruise. As a proud member of the Iowa Pyrotechnics Association, he also helped put on fireworks displays with friends—something that brought him great joy.
He is survived by his sister, Shirley Poucher, his brother, David Siebels, his children: Deborah Pregler (Brian), Carrie Hahn (Joel), Christine Brandsma (Jason), and Daniel Siebels (Jessica) and his grandchildren: Zachary, Elizabeth, Maxwell and Samantha.
Dale will be remembered for his steady presence, his willingness to lend a hand, and the deep love he held for his family, friends and community.
