Darlene M. Gade, age 84, of Clarence, Iowa, died at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House-Hiawatha on May 27, 2010. Darlene was born March 16, 1926, in Cedar County, Iowa, to Arthur and Wanda (Goldsmith) Ibsen. Darlene married Leroy Gade on August 5, 1944, at Clarence; he died in 1998. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Sunday, May 30, 2010, at St. John's United Church Of Christ in Clarence, Iowa, with Reverend David Mears officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Saturday, May 29, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Darlene was a member of St. John's Church and had been active in the community. She is survived by daughters: Deanna (Russ) Kross of Dayton, Ohio, and Marlys Gade of Des Moines; grandchildren Jeff (Cindy) Kross of Macon, Georgia, Brenda Kross of Dayton, Ohio, Teresa (Brian) Greenlee of Dayton, Ohio, Emily Minnis (Leslie Prieto) Eugene, Oregon, Ben (Kacy) Minnis of Eugene, Oregon; great grandchildren Riley, Mackenzie, Madison Kross, Brooke, Tanner & Brandi Greenlee and Violet Kalet Minnis; brothers Jamie (Joyce) Ibsen of Wichita, Kansas and Bill (Jane) Ibsen of Des Moines. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
