Darrell E. Hagg, 69, of Wheatland, passed away Sunday February 10, 2013 at his home. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday February 13, 2013 at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland at 11:00 A.M with Pastor Sarah Kretzmann officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in South Dakota at a later date. Darrell was born on July 10, 1943 to Hjalmar and Lucille (Reed) Hagg in Dell Rapids, South Dakota. He married Brenda Summers on February 9, 1972 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Darrell loved going to stock car races, loved to travel, and would go anywhere on a motorcycle. He would also mess with anything that was mechanical and bowled for years. He would do anything for his grandsons. Darrell retired from Hon Industries after 22 years. Survivors include his wife, Brenda; son, Terry (Brandi) of Wheatland; grandsons, Levi and Lucas; sisters, Barbara Formaneck of Medford, Oregon and Adaline (Pete) Collins of San Bernadino, California; brother, Leonard (June) of Youngstown, Ohio; special cousin John (Marie) Reed of Sundance, Wyoming; surrogate son, Tom (Kati) Bates of Tipton; and several nieces and nephews. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather; and brother, Ernest. The family would like to thank Genesis Hospice, Maggie Pewe, Derron Pewe, Mary Kucera, Justin Akers and June Hagg, plus all family and friends for their prayers and support.
