Dennis Pruess, age 54, of Clarence, Iowa, died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at University Hospital, Iowa City, after short illness. Dennis was born August 17, 1953, in Clinton, Iowa to Glenn and Margaret (Mitchell) Pruess. Dennis Married Anita Pasold July 9, 1976 in Clarence. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at St. John's United Church Of Christ, with Reverend David Mears officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm on Monday, June 9, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Dennis was a farmer and had been a director for 10 years with the Clarence Co Operative Company. He was a director with the Land O'Lakes Ag Executive Council and had been a Farm Bureau board member. He served on the Cedar County Zoning Commission and was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Dennis was preceded in death by father Glenn, sister Molly, and brother David. He is survived by his wife, Anita, daughter Renae Pruess of Perry, son John Pruess of Cedar Rapids, mother Margaret Pruess of Clarence, brother Dan(Nancy) Pruess of Marshalltown, daughter in-law Judy Pruess of Pleasant Valley, a niece Sonia Pruess and nephews Christopher, Benjamin and Adam Pruess.
