Donald H. Kroemer, age 82 of Lowden, passed away on Sunday January 24, 2021 at St. Luke's Unity Point Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 30 at 10:30 A.M at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden with Reverend Daniel Redhage officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-6 P.M on Friday January 29 at the church. The family requests that those attending services wear masks.
Don was born on July 22, 1938 to Herbert and Alma (Bunge) Kroemer in Lowden.
Don served his country in the Army from 1961-1963. Religion was a big part of his life and he enjoyed singing in the church choir. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran and held many offices and was on many committees. Don was the announcer for the Lowden Indees baseball team for many years and worked at Lowden Plumbing & Heating for over 50 years. He enjoyed playing cards and bowling and was a big White Sox, Bears, and Hawkeyes fan.
Don is survived by his brother Everett (Ruth Ann) of Manchester sisters Marilyn Nicely of Wheatland and Roberta (Dan) Zillman of Marion; and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
