Donavan L. Fox, age 74, died Wednesday September 14, 2016 at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home. Services will be Monday September 19, 2016 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland at 10:30 a.m.. Visitation will be Sunday September 18, 2016 at Chapman's in Wheatland from 3-7 p.m.. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery with military honors. Donavan L. Fox was born July 18, 1942 at Davenport, Iowa to Raymond and Erma Riedesel Fox. Donavan was married to Karen Warren on October 5, 1968 at Wheatland. She passed away on May 6, 2011. Donavan was a Vietnam Veteran and a member of the Wheatland American Legion. He was a lifelong farmer along with being a substitute mail carrier for Wheatland and also a housekeeper at the VA center in Iowa City. Donavan enjoyed being a cashier at the community breakfast in Wheatland, meeting and talking with other veterans, and watching the Cubs or Dodgers. He loved his cat "pud" and was especially proud of his 2 grandchildren. Survivors include his son David and wife Peggy of Granger, Iowa and his 2 grandchildren Lydia and Bridger. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and daughter Kelly.
