Donna Clemmens, age 77, of Clarence, Iowa, died Sunday, August 9, 2009 in the Clarence Nursing Home. Donna was born October 5, 1931, in Clarence, to George and Nettie (Henkes) Sheldon. Donna married Melvin (Ted) Clemmens June 22, 1952. He died in 1987. Donna was a member of the Clarence United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the American Legion Auxilliary Post #286. Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 12, at 1:30pm at the Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence, Iowa, with Karmen Jamison officiating. Inurnment will follow in Clarence Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until the service time on Wednesday. Donna is survived by her sister Shirley Blake of Dewitt; brothers Gilbert of Clarence, John of Edmonds, Washington, and Donald of Marengo. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Helen and brothers George, Dale, and Dean.
