Doris "Jane" Kinney, age 77 of Lost Nation, passed away on Saturday October 28, 2023 at Wheatland Manor. A celebration of Jane's life will be held at a later date.

Jane was born on October 22, 1946 in Villisca, Iowa to Joe and Helen (English) Penwell. She married Ralph Caes and later divorced. She then married Charles Kinney, who passed away on November 25, 2006.

Jane is survived by her daughters Stacy (Ben) Traver of Lowden and Kim (Todd) James of Rock City, IL; son Richie McCall of Rock Island, IL; step children Kevin (Janet) of Ohio, Joelle Stoddard of Clinton, Charleen (Joe) Kilburg of LaMotte, and Robbi Haase of Minnesota; grandchildren KayLynn, KaCee, Lily, Carver, Georgia, and Olivia; many step grandchildren; many great and step great grandchildren; and also her very special close friends Kenny Lacey, Sue Zeller, John and Sarah Hadaway, Mary Reiling, Heidi Burmeister, and Bev Rohling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 husbands; brother Jim Orstad; and step daughter Michelle Kinney.

Jane was a barber in her earlier years and drove school bus for the Midland school district. She was the matriarch of the family and celebrated occasions by baking for her family and friends. Jane would have coffee every morning at the Tri-Stop with her friends and solve the worlds problems. She was a foster parent for years and mentored many troubled boys and young men. Jane was a friend to everyone and enjoyed bringing people together.
