Dorothy L. Conrad, 89, of Clarence, Iowa died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005 at the Clarence Nursing Home after a short illness. Dorothy Schnabel was born on May 5, 1916 in Cedar County, Iowa to Carl and Manda (Goldsmith) Schnabel. Dorothy Schnabel was united in marriage to Lawrence Conrad on December 23, 1936. Lawrence died on January 6, 1999. Dorothy was a graduate of Clarence High School, a member of the Amvets and St. John's Church in Clarence. Funeral Services will be held at St. John's Church of Christ in Clarence on Tuesday, September 27, at 10:30 AM with Reverend David Mears officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Church Cemetery. Music will be provided at by the St. John's Adult Choir. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM at Chapman Funeral home in Clarence. Honorary Pallbearers include Bruce, Brent, Brian Gearhart, Brad Mulley, Kurtis Wenndt, Nick Klein, and Brock Wenndt. Pallbearers will be Jason Klein, Ross Conrad, Keith Wenndt, D.J. McAtte, Rick Conrad, and Randy Conrad. Dorothy Conrad is survived by her son Allen (Peg) of Anamosa and her daughters: Janice (Dale) Wenndt of Oxford Junction and Yvonne (Gil) Mulley of Livermore Colorado, 8 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother Lester and sister Evelyn.
