Dr. George H. Utley, age 91 of Clarence, passed away on Saturday May 8, 2021 at the Clarence Nursing Home. Per George's request, there will be no services. George was born on July 26, 1929 in Manchester, Iowa to Miles and Grace (Hockaday) Utley. George was united in marriage to Kathryn Paul in 1991. George was a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians, and practiced his 34 years of medicine in Clarence. He was an avid bicyclist & fisherman, and rode in Ragbrai 5 times between the ages of 70 & 80. He is survived by his daughter Jean (Craig) Nelsen of Hudson, WI; son Bill (Kayla) Utley of Center Point; wife Kathryn Paul Utley of Clarence; stepsons Michael Paul, MD of St. Louis, MO; brother David Utley of Iowa City; grandchildren Colton Utley, Katie Ward, and Libby Ward; step grandchildren Jonathan Paul, Jennifer Eureka, Stephen Paul, Elizabeth Paul, Alex Paul, and Zachary Paul; several step great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents; brother Harry; infant grandson Mitchell; stepson David; and sister Eileen Billhorn.
