Edith Licht, age 84, of Lowden, Iowa, died February 1, 2007, at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home. Edith was born July 25, 1923, in Baldwin, Iowa to Floyd and Elizabeth (Hershberger) Wyrick. Edith Married Raymond Licht on May 22, 1949 at Monmouth, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, February 11, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden, Iowa, with Reverend Victor Young officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the church on Monday.
Edith graduated from Monmouth High School and obtained her college education from Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) and Cornell College. She taught 16 years in the Lowden School System after which she helped in the family business, Licht's Department Store. She was a member of Lowden Trinity Lutheran church and held various offices in the ladies aid and sewing circle. She taught 10 years in the Sunday school and several years for Vacation Bible School. She sang in the church choir for a few years. She was a member of the Lowden American Legion Auxiliary and a past member of the the Amvets Auxiliary.
Edith is survived by her sister Pauline Orris of Wyoming; nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in December of 1996; and a nephew, Kenneth Orris.
