Edna L. Gronwaldt, 96, of Wheatland, Iowa, died Saturday, November 18, 2006, at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home in Wheatland, Iowa. Edna was born on August 4,1910, in Maquoketa, Iowa to Edward Louis and Lena (Wosoba) Merrick. Edna Married Arnold Gronwaldt on November 24, 1940 in Millrock,Ia. He died February 14, 1998. She was a member of St. Paul's church and the Eastern Star. She was educated and graduated from Baldwin school. After graduation she owned and operated her own beauty parlor in Lost Nation. After her marriage she farmed with her husband south of Wheatland. She loved her bowling team,camping,fishing and the cubs. She was a loving mother,grandmother, and great-grandmother. Funeral services for Edna will be held at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland, Iowa, Monday November 20, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Laird Keever officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Wheatland, Iowa. Visitation for Edna Gronwaldt will be one hour prior to service time at the church on Friday. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Inez Knutson and brothers Edward and Paul Merrick. Edna is survived by a daughter, Roxie (Dean) Mouchka of Wheatland; Granddaughters - Kay (Jim) Droll of Clarence and Krista (Scott) Shoultz of Huron, South Dakota; Great-granddaughters Melissa Aston and Madison Shoultz; Great-grandsons, Josh Droll, Jayce Droll and Jarrod Droll.
