Elaine E. Sanger, age 86, of Clarence, Iowa, died Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Clarence Nursing Home. Elaine was born January 31, 1926, in Clarence, the daughter of Henry and Erna (Goldsmith) Boettcher. On April 20, 1947, she married Raymond Sanger. He died May 23, 2012.\nFuneral services will be held at St. John�s United Church of Christ, Clarence, on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Lynn Butterbrodt officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John�s before the service. Burial will be in St. John�s Cemetery. \nMemorials may be given to the charity of choice.\nElaine was a member of the church and the Clarence American Legion Auxiliary. She had worked at the Clarence and Mechanicsville Nursing Homes. She is survived by her son, Ted Sanger of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; daughters, Ellen (Melvin) Krause of Cedar Rapids; Sally Meyer of Marion, Iowa; Peggy (Richard III) Prochaska of Cedar Rapids; and Vicki Crock of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren Christy (Nate) Hines; Jeromy (Renee) Krause; Phillip (Amy) Meyer; Steve Prochaska IV; Chad (Stephanie) Prochaska; Theresa (Jessie) Manning; Joe (Collette) Crock and Matthew (Crystal) Crock; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Delores Shinners; and daughter, Lori.
