Eleanor Kruckenberg, age 96, of Lowden, Iowa, died at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home on Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Eleanor was born September 2, 1913 in Clarence, Iowa to Ferd and Minnie (Meier) Hein. Eleanor married Gerhard Kruckenberg on Dec. 25, 1934 at Trinity Lutheran Parsonage in Lowden. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden, Iowa, with Reverend Victor Young officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 on Friday, July 2, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Please send memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or Camp Courageous. Eleanor attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Clarence High School. She was a member of Trinity Church. She is survived by daughter-Janet (William) Ketelsen of Durant; son-James (Sharon) of Lowden; 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 4 great-great Grandchildren; sister Velma Butterbrodt of Tipton. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, son, a granddaughter, 1 brother and 1 sister.
