Obituary

Elfrieda Kroemer, 90, of Lowden, died Tuesday November 20, 2012 at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 24 at 2:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden, with Reverend Victor Young officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, November 23 from 4-6 PM at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence, Iowa.\n Elfrieda was born on December 12, 1921 to Heinrich and Alvine (Braasch) Horstmann in Germany. She married Norman Kroemer on December 10, 1939 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden. He died in 2005. Elfrieda was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden and was active in the LWML.\n Survivors include a son Leon(Karen) of Cedar Rapids; daughter-in-law, Sherril Kroemer of Clinton;grandchildren Jeffrey (Laura) Kroemer, Jodi (Kirk) Jonasson, Michael (D'Anne) Kroemer, and Kristen (Greg) Jacobs; great grandchildren, Hannah Jonasson, Luke Jonasson, and Joseph Jonasson; sister, Erna Brendes of Cedar Rapids; and sister-in-law, Veneta Kroemer of Clarence.\n She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenneth; husband, Norman; brother, Henry; and two sisters, Betty Kleppe and Helen Kline Hansel.
