Ellouise G. Rekemeyer, age 79, of Tipton, Iowa, died May 5, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Ellouise was born February 2, 1932 to Anton Deerberg and Augusta (Wenndt) Conrad. Ellouise married Harlan Rekemeyer on March 9, 1954 at Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden. He died April 15, 2001. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, May 9, 2011, at First United Church Of Christ in Tipton, Iowa, with Reverend David Lorenzen officiating. Burial will follow at Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Sunday, May 8, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Ellouise was a member of First United Church of Christ where she was a past church council member and a former memorial committee member. She enjoyed her grandsons' sporting activities and loved to bake and play cards. She is survived by sons Philip of Ankeny and Floyd (Robbin) of Cedar Rapids; daughter Patricia (Bruce) Tait of Woodbury, MN; 4 grandsons; 1 step-granddaughter; brother Harlan (Florence) Deerberg of Lowden; and sister MaryJane Schnack of Wheaton, Illinois. Ellouise was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Edwin and William, and one grandson.
