Elvira Rose Steffens, age 99, of Tipton, Iowa, died on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home-Tipton. Elvira was born August 27, 1911, in Cedar County to Adolph Stoecker and Anna (Bouschlicher) Stoecker. Elvira married Orlando Steffens on December 30, 1931, at Davenport. He died June 25, 1996. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 7, 2011, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence, Iowa. Burial will follow at Lowden Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 1:00pm until service time on Friday, January 7, at the Funeral Home. Memorials to Cedar Manor Nursing Home. Elvira and Orlando had farmed Southeast of Lowden and moved to Tipton in 1975. Her faith and the years on the farm were most important to her. She has no immediate survivors. Elvira was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Ursa Nanke.
