Eugene B. Bowman, age 65, passed away on Saturday September 14, 2013 at his home in Massillon. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 18, 2013 at 10:30 A.M at the Massillon Community Church with Reverend Maurie Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Massillon Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 16, 2013 from 4-7 P.M at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Eugene was born on April 2, 1948 to Samual and Ann Jo (Giles) Bowman in Frankfort, Kentucky. He married Judy Bell on September 24, 1971 in Rock Island, Illinois. Eugene ran Operation Soldier Support, supplying soldiers with care packages overseas for years, and was very instrumental in the success of SARET at the Rock Island Arsenal. He is survived by his wife, Judy; son, Brian (Petra) Bowman of Chatham, New Jersey; adopted son, John (Cathleen) Holst of Columbus, Georgia; daughter, Heather (Calvin) Clark of Lowden; 6 grandchildren; brothers Jim, Ernie and Tony of Frankfort, KY. and Shane of Lexington, KY.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and a brother, Michael Todd.\n
