Evelyn Derynck, age 79, of Clarence, Iowa, died Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids. She was born August 27, 1930, to Julius and Ranelda (Theesfeld) Gottschalk. She married Marvin Derynck August 27, 1950, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 25, 2009, at the Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence, Iowa, with Reverend Victor Young officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Lowden. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 11:30 am until the time of service. Evelyn is survived by her husband Marvin; daughter Pam (Don) Casteel of Warren, Michigan; sisters Irene Derynck of Clarence and Shirley Hansen of Cedar Rapids; 1 grandchild and 3 great grandchildren.
