Evelyn F. Voelker, age 94, of Stanwood, Iowa, died June 5, 2008, at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids from complications of a stroke. Evelyn was born April 1, 1914, in Olin, Ia to Edward Kreger and Freda (Schlellin) Kreger. She was an active member in her church. Evelyn was married January 28, 1936 in Anamosa to Harlan Voelker. He died Jan. 1, 1999. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 on Sunday, June 8, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, June 9, 2008, at Stanwood Union Church, Iowa, with Pastor Phil Leipold officiating. Burial will follow at Stanwood Cemetery. Evelyn is survived by her two daughters, Donna(Dick) Byersdorfer of Sun Rise Beach, Mo. and Sheryl Mullen and special friend Stan Kohl of Stanwood, four grandchildren, Brian(Kim) Mullen, Kelly(Dean) Chiafos, Mike Byersdorfer, and Michelle Lawless, five great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Marieta Graf of Olin and Rosalie Rohwedder of Clarence. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, Marvin, Earl and Vernie Kreger, and a sister Elna VonBehren.
