Fay E. Ropa Robinson, age 97 of Mechanicsville, died Thursday January 15, 2015 at Prarie Hills Assisted Living Center in Tipton, Iowa. Visitation will be Monday January 19, 2015 from 4-6 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Funeral services will be Tuesday January 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Chapman's with Rev. William Harnish and Rev. Barb Krueger officiating. Burial will be in the Stanwood Cemetery. Fay was born August 20, 1917 to Fred and Winnie Wilkin Ropa in Stanwood, Iowa. She was married to Gorman Robinson on February 28, 1941 in Stanwood, Iowa in her childhood home. Fay was a past president of the Eastern Iowa Angus Women's Auxiliary and Hillcrest Country Club Ladies Golf. She was a member of the Mechanicsville Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women's Group. Fay enjoyed traveling and winters spent in Florida. She is survived by her husband, Gorman and daughter Kay (Jack) Robinson of Austin, Tx. She was preceeded in death by her parents and her little pal dog "Muff". Memorials may be directed to the Friends of the Animals in Tipton or the Mechanicsville Ambulance or Fire Department.
