Francis J. Johnson, 65, of Clarence died Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Francis was born in Beloit, Wisconsin, on June 8, 1943 to Floyd Sr. and Adeline (Brosnan) Johnson. Francis married Judi Pruefer on December 11, 1965 in Busseyville, Wisconsin.
Francis served in the Air Force and worked as a millwright with Local 2158 of Bettendorf for 43 years before retiring on June 26, 2008. He was a member of Cedar Ledge #11 of Tipton and Bennett Legion Post #104. Francis was an avid hunter and fisherman and Green Bay Packer fan. Most of all he loved his family and friends.
Visitation for Francis Johnson will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, September 7, 2008, at Chapman Funeral Home, 311 5th Avenue in Clarence, Iowa. A Masonic service will be held at 4:00 by Cedar Lodge #11 of Tipton with a military service by Bennett Legion post #104 following. His body will be cremated with Inurnment at a later date.
Francis is survived by his wife Judi; son Troy (Deana) of Beloit, Wisconsin; daughter Trisha (Mark) Meyers of Clarence; 4 grandchildren; 2 brothers Floyd (Pam) and William both of Beloit, Wisconsin; and a sister Arlene (Terry) Fell also of Beloit.
Francis was proceded in death by his parents.
