Garla A. Steines, age 66, of Wheatland, Iowa, died December 14, 2009, at her daughter's home in Baldwin. Garla was born September 7, 1943, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Fay Emerson and Elnora Willert. Garla married Robert Steines on November 30, 1963, at GrandMound. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 18, 2009, at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland, Iowa. Following services, her body will be cremated with burial at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, December 17, at the funeral home. Survivors are son Barton (Angela) of Lowden; daughters Bobbi (Walter) Bartels of Baldwin and Bayli Billie Jo (Joshua) Brewer of Boone; 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-Myrna Cavanaugh of Maquoketa and Bonnie Fox of Davenport. Garla was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Roland Emerson, and sisters-Carole Walte and Donna Rottman.
